Pennsylvania personal injury attorney and Anapol Schwartz Shareholder Tom Anapol assisted in negotiating two metal-on-metal hip replacement lawsuit settlements.

In April 2014, Anapol and co-lead counsel Mark Lanier negotiated a global settlement with Biomet that would provide a base award of $200,000 for people who needed their metal-on-metal hip implant replaced.

The November 2014 Stryker hip replacement recall settlement was the largest in terms of base award. Stryker recipients who underwent a revision prior to November 3, 2014 are entitled to a $300,000 base award. Additional compensation is available for patients who experienced further complications.

The Biomet and Stryker settlements do not signify an end to metal-on-metal hip replacement lawsuits.  Anapol is still filing metal-on-metal hip implant lawsuits on behalf of patients not included in the settlement.

Stryker Rejuvenate and ABG II patients who undergo revision after November 2, 2014 are not included in the settlement and will need to file a Stryker hip lawsuit if they wish to be considered for compensation.

Recipients of the DePuy Pinnacle hip replacement that underwent a revision surgery may also be entitled to compensation. Patients who suspect their metal Pinnacle hip is failing are urged to contact Anapol to discuss filing a DePuy Pinnacle lawsuit.
